House Clearance Bodmin
Professional house clearance in Bodmin, Cornwall. Free no-obligation quotes from Lanora House, based in Hayle, West Cornwall.
of everything we clear is saved from landfill
Most of what we take away is reused, donated, or recycled rather than sent to a skip. A real figure from our own jobs.
Bodmin sits at the edge of Bodmin Moor and is the historic county town of Cornwall, a character the older properties around Priory Road and Dennison Road still carry. Clearances here frequently include the contents of farms and smallholdings on the moorland fringe, which can mean agricultural equipment, outbuildings full of decades of accumulated tools and materials, and farmhouse interiors that have not changed since the 1970s. The town itself has a mix of old granite terraces, some substantial Victorian houses near the former county asylum, and more recent residential development, all of which we clear regularly.
Areas we cover in and around Bodmin: Priory Road, Dennison Road, Bodmin Moor fringe, Lanivet, Nanstallon, Cardinham, Lostwithiel.
House clearance in Bodmin
Bodmin homes have often been lived in for a very long time. On a recent bereavement clearance of a two storey terraced house in the town, every room was still exactly as it had been left: wardrobes and rails of clothing, blankets stacked on the beds, musical instruments and framed paintings. Jobs like that need patience as much as muscle. We work through each room carefully, set aside photographs, paperwork and anything personal for the family, and only then clear the rest.
Around the town and out on the edge of the moor, clearances often include outbuildings, sheds and farm or smallholding contents as well as the house itself. We price all of it at the visit so the quote stays firm on the day.
Good furniture, instruments, pictures and household items are resold or donated wherever possible, and that value comes off your clearance cost.
Why our clearances often cost less
Items of value recovered during a clearance (furniture, antiques, collectables, quality household goods) are passed back as a reduction in your clearance cost. In some cases, particularly where a property contains items of real worth, the clearance costs nothing at all.
We are based in Hayle, West Cornwall, and travel to Bodmin regularly. Travel is factored into our quote and never added afterwards.
What happens to the contents
On average, we save around two-thirds of everything we clear from landfill on each clearance. Furniture, books, clothing, and household goods in reasonable condition are taken to our own resale channels or donated to local charities. What cannot be reused or donated is disposed of through registered facilities. We are happy to tell families exactly what happened to belongings.

Bereavement Clearance in Bodmin, Cornwall
A full bereavement clearance of a two-storey terraced home in Bodmin, the historic county town on the edge of Bodmin Moor. The property had been lived in for decades and every room was still exactly as it had been left: wardrobes and rails of clothing, textiles and blankets stacked on the beds, musical instruments, framed paintings and artwork, and a loft packed to the rafters with boxes, timber and stored furniture. Clearances after a death are not the same as any other job, and we do not treat them that way. We worked at the family's pace, room by room, setting aside documents, photographs, jewellery and personal keepsakes for them to go through rather than making those decisions for them. Nothing was cleared until they had confirmed it. The kitchen was one of the clearest transformations. Shelves of crockery, glassware and decades of accumulated kitchenware were removed and the room taken back to bare units. The reception rooms, hallway, stairs, all four bedrooms, the bathroom and the loft followed, along with the overgrown rear yard and garden, which had not been touched in some time. As always, as much as possible was kept out of the ground. Furniture, books, clothing and household goods in reasonable condition went to our resale channels or to local charities, and the rest was disposed of through licensed facilities. We are registered waste carriers and can tell a family exactly where their belongings went.
