House clearance in Cornwall

Lanora House is based in Hayle, in west Cornwall. We clear properties across the whole county, from Penzance and the Lizard in the west to Launceston and Bude on the Devon border. Our unit is at The Old Foundry Chapel on Chapel Terrace, so most of Cornwall is within an easy run for our team and vans.

On a full house clearance we do not add anything for travel, wherever in the county the property is. We can do that because we have our own routes for rehoming what comes out of a house, and that is what keeps our prices competitive.

On smaller jobs, travel is worked out before we give you a price and included in the figure you are quoted. It is never added afterwards.

We are licensed waste carriers, registered with the Environment Agency under CBDU590448. Everything we remove is handled correctly and we can show you the paperwork.

What we clear in Cornwall

Most of our work falls into a handful of types. Each one has its own page with the detail.

Probate and estate clearance

Clearing a property so an estate can be settled or the house can be sold. We work with executors, solicitors, and families, at whatever pace the probate process allows, and we provide written confirmation of the clearance for the estate file. Bereavement clearance

Clearing the home of someone who has died. We set aside anything you want kept, work at your pace, and can tell you what happened to the rest. Families often ask us to do this before they feel ready to go through the house themselves.

Full house clearance

The whole property emptied, loft to garden, in one job. We arrive with the right vehicles and equipment, remove everything agreed, and leave the property swept through. We also do partial clearances if you only need one room or one floor.

Commercial clearance

Offices, shops, and other business premises cleared when they change hands or close. We can work outside normal hours where a business needs to keep trading.

Hoarding clearance

Handled regularly, in confidence, and without judgement. We go at a pace that works for the people involved and we do not rush anyone.

End of tenancy clearance

For landlords and agents who need a property emptied and ready to let again. We can follow it with end of tenancy cleaning if you want the whole thing done in one booking.

Downsizing

Moving to somewhere smaller and needing to part with a lot of it. We help sort what goes and what stays, and take away the rest.

Garden clearance

Overgrown gardens, sheds, greenhouses, and garden waste. Often booked alongside a house clearance, sometimes on its own.

Why our clearances often cost less

Items of value recovered during a clearance, such as furniture, antiques, collectables, and quality household goods, are passed back to you as a reduction in the clearance cost. Where a property holds items of real worth, the clearance can cost nothing at all. We explain how this works when we visit, and nothing is agreed without you.

What happens to the contents

On average we keep around two-thirds of everything we clear out of landfill. Furniture, books, clothing, and household goods in reasonable condition go to our own resale channels or to local charities. Metals and recyclables go to licensed recycling facilities. Only what cannot be reused or recycled goes to a registered waste facility.
